There is tourism in Himberg! ;)

About a week ago the 6th grade walked around in Himberg and interviewed some guesthouse owners. The students found out that most of the guests are commuters but one pension houses tourists too. The owner told us, that the tourists use Himberg as a starting point for short trips because it is near Vienna, the Neusiedler Lake and the Semmering - a skiing region. After our tour the students created posters for you.
Sadly our Digi-Cam broke down on this day. That's why there are no pictures.

Unsere Gegend

Magdalena Baumgartner, Anna Bubich, Katharina Pinter

Our region

In our region we have got a few forests, but a lot of fields. We haven´t got any high mountains, because we live in the lowlands. We have got a lot of farmers, but they don´t raise many animals like cows or pigs. Himberg has got about 5500 inhabitants. There are three parts called Himberg, Pellendorf and Velm. You can reach Vienna in about 20 minutes, it is 15 km far  away from Himberg.

In our region we have got a lot of medows.

A lot of wild animals live in our area. For example: ducks, beavers, herons, deer and birds.

A lot of children from other villages go to our school. They take the bus to school. We have got 10 classes, about 200 pupils and 22 teachers.

In Himberg we have got stables, golfcourses, tenniscourts and soccer fields.

We have got a lot of traffic in our region. Traffic is very heavy in the morning and in the evening, becaue many people go to work in Vienna.

We haven´t got any famous sights in Himberg.

We hope that you can imagine what Himberg is like now.

From Klosterneuburg and Susan

Dear Comenius Friends!

Only a few hours are left until our third meeting starts in Turkey.

We and our 8 pupils are already quite excited.

Here are some photos from the interview with the director of the Tourist Information Centre of Klosterneuburg. Everything he told the pupils about tourism in Klosterneuburg was written down in a map we are using for our project. Then we visited a small 4* Hotel where the pupils could see the rooms and talk to the owner family.

In the moment a new big 4* hotel is built in Klosterneuburg by the Radisson group. We went there and had a look at building, which is nearly finished.

See you in Alacati

Hi everybody!
Here you have one of our schools´tradition - the Carnival parade.
This Powerpoint was made by a class of 8-year-olds from ESCOLA DAS RIBEIRAS ( a school that is part of our Vertical Group of schools).
They have made loads of small powerpoints about different issues, so it was difficult to choose one to post !!!
This parade is about the class transforming itself into robots.
I will show you the complete powerpoint in Alacati, Turkey during the 3rd project meeting.
Till then take care,
Manuela Galante

Sorry, but I have to leave a message in Portuguese for the little ones!

MG
